The photo shows two oil pump inner gears, the first is the OE part and the second is our upgraded gear. Our inner oil pump gear has a double shoulder which makes it thicker through the bore. This provides more drive surface area which decreases wear on the harmonic balancer and the inner gear.

The second photo shows our upgraded oil pump gear set. Our oil pump gears are manufactured locally in Geebung, Brisbane using Boler Calmax steel alloy. Calmax has the following properties: free marching; non galling; hardened by heat treatment; and, stable during hardening. The outer gears are partially machined then hardened to 45 HRC. The inner gears are fully machined and hardened to 48 - 52 HRC. The outer gears are toleranced machined and manually paired with the inner gears.

Our oil pump gears are fitted to new oil pump housings. As the gears are larger than the OE part, the new oil pump housings are machined to suit our matched gear pairs. This process achieves precision tolerances which are individually measured and recorded on a quality assurance certification for each pump.
