RB 30/25 TORQUE
MONSTER '' walkthrough''
After alot of quoting and
conversations with customers about the internals of the 'monster' we have
decided to give a step by step run down of the combo in this section . The power
output of this combo totally is turbo choice related. We like to call this combo
a safe 300rwkw setup and 7500rpm max.. Over this rpm we recommend an oil
pump upgrade and other upgrades are available upwards of that power
level. The combo is the most value for dollar spent . Please take time to read
through the RBtech tips section for further ideas.
The build starts with
chemical cleaning and cracktesting of all parts .We then bore the block on our
custom made jig to ensure the bores are straight with the crank main tunnels.
The deck is then done on the same jig so all is true to the piston crown, after
this we hone the bores with a custom made honeplate to our own tried and proven
hone finish. One lesson i have learnt over the years is its not the fancy
machine you have at hand but the knowledge to give the correct hone finish for
the ring set type chosen!!!. The crank has one of our collars fitted see RBtech
tips section for correct fitting. Crank is clearanced, oil holes screwed,
micropolished and all internals are balanced on our CEMB balance machine. ACL
comp bearings are fitted using our custom clearances and short block is
complete.

The build comes with a
new waterpump, tensioners and GATES belt, with tensioner relocation. The build
uses a modded rb25 oil pump as said rated to 7500rpm max. We fit custom
forged pistons with our favorite ringset. Use of an MLSR steel head gasket
along with our micro finished deck surfaces ensures an accurate sealing surface.
The head is given a mild port job with multi angle seat job and the as usual
meticulous assembly. The build uses stock camshafts and springs as per the
7500rpm limit once again. Our race sump is fitted as is stock rods with arp
bolts and the normal resizing and bushing. Oil restrictors and genuine
nissan gaskets used. PRICE $6500 .
Recommendations and
upgrades for 300rwkw plus and 7500rpm plus as
follows
1. h beam rods $699
extra
2. ROSS race
harmonic $595
3. Tomei oil pump
$2200 depending on yen at time of purchase.

This particular customer chose to use our ROSS
metal jacket balancer and oil drain backs and catch can for track
use.
The ''monster'' is a custom built engine to youre
requirements with turn around time approx 4 weeks. It is without a doubt
the most value for dollar and with our run in and tune procedures will provide
thousands of hours of tyre shredding fun.
BUDJET RB26 GTR '' WALKTHROUGH''
After many emails and customers
questions regarding the ''budjet'' rb26 GTR build $6500 we have
decided to run a detailed walkthrough of the combo which we can direct customers
to and what they get for the cost they can see.
Like all of our other engine combos
these are a build youre own basis. We can buy in a core engine and build
while you drive then exchange once built if required.
The build starts with full chemical
cleaning, cracktesting and inspection of all parts. The block is bored and
decked with deck finish suitable for MLSR 4 layer head gasket used. The block is
honed using our SUNNEN hone and custom bore finish.
ACL competition bearings are used
and crankshaft is ground and micropolished to our custom bearing clearances.
Alot of time is put into getting the bearing clearances to our specs. We regrub
screw the oil holes in crankshaft and fit our crank collar if R32.
Custom JE or Arias forged pistons
are used with TOTAL SEAL rings. The rods get a new set of ARP bolts and are
resized both ends then all internals are balanced.
The cylinder head recieves a
complete service including chemical clean, 3 angle valvejob, new seals and
reface with tappett readjustment. All genuine nissan gaskets are used so after
the build you are supplied with the leftover gaskets as in manifold gaskets and
all turbo gaskets included. New core plugs are fitted, genuine nissan sealants
and a fresh black paintjob.
The timing components include a
GATES race timing belt and all new tensioners and waterpump. The build price
does not include removal and redressing of accessories just a basic sump to
cover build. Turn around time approx 4 weeks .This combo is rated to
7500rpm and 300rwkw. Further recommended upgrades for increased power levels are
as follows......
ADD................
1. h beam rods $699
2. ROSS harmonic balancer
$699
3. Tomei oil pump $2200 depending on
yen conversion at the time . FOR 7500 RPM ONWARDS
.....
4.HKS ,TOMEI or our custom cams
$1200 pair
5. spring upgrade to suit
$699
6. hi vol alloy RACE sump
$999. '' OR'' TOMEI style trap door sump tray $400.

No secrets here this combo will go around 250rwkw with stock GTR
turbo,s and up to 290 rwkw with upgraded turbo chargers after
this power level we recommend our upgrades as described
above..................................................................................

LS1 383 BUILD
Another exiting build that is quiet common is our
383 cube LS1, LS2 COMBO. Starting from a chemically cleaned and inspected
factory block the bores are .003 to .005 oversized with honeplates and decked
square to crank tunnel. The bottom end is filled with a 4340 SCAT stroker crank,
h beam rods and forged PROBE pistons with plasma moly rings. The entire assembly
is clearance ground , balanced and ACL or CLEVITE bearings are used. We have our
own custom cams ground on new billets depending on engine
application.

The heads are cnc ported and finished by hand to the tune of
300cfm @ 28'' using stock valve size. Double spring and retainer kit is used and
the heads get the usual reface, cc , and 4 layer MLSR head gaskets. This combo
has been put together being the best value for money in a streetable everday
driver..We can do these exchange or do youre own..With this engine combo
arealistic 550 hp at the engine is achievable with a 85mm throttle body
,performance exhaust and enclosed pod style intake. PRICE IS $9999.00 and can be
found in ''race built engines'' under ''LS1 CHEVROLET''

408 chrysler STROKER twin turbo BUILDUP

Starting with a select picked factory 70,s vintage 360 block, we
started work on our build
which is destined for an early chrysler with two turbo chargers
'OUCH'.....
Knowing all well the ammount of stress on the internal parts we
have been selective on the
parts used. The block recieving chemical cleaning, sonic bore
checking, square decked, and
bored and honed to 30thou oversize. Durabond seamless cam
bearings are fitted to ensure
the custom crane solid roller cam spins with maximum bearing
support. After fitting the
Program Engineering 4 bolt main caps the tunnels were machined
along with the Scat crank-
shaft and speedpro h series main bearings. To handle the push on
the Scat h beam rods we
chose to use the hi performance King series bearings. A target
9:1 comp ratio was built in
to the KB forged pistons. Sealing it all up we used ever relible
Hastings race ringset.

All of the chosen parts are an array of the best quality using
Crane gold shaft rockers,a new
timing cover, Milodon oil pan, Rollmaster gearset and brass
welch plug kit. We balanced the
entire assembly using a Proffessional products balancer and
B&M sfi approved flexplate.
Internally balancing it to enable easy convertor choice and
manufacture.

Quiet a few days were spent hand porting the Edelbrock alloy
heads netting 300 cfm @600
lift. Using Manley 2.055 and 1.65 valves along with Crane triple
springs,retainers and locks.
An interesting feature with the KB forged pistons are that they
have a raised quench pad on
the piston crown which we have sat out the deck and squeezes
into a carefully machined
reciever pocket which will provide an efficient quench pad
squish area. T he end result being
to run less timing and still produce an efficient burn and ease
the pressure from the engine
internals. Felpro oring head gaskets and ARP studs throughout
keep all the squeeze inside.

All parts can be found throughout the website and if requiring
one of these combos they
are $23,000. We will let you know the dyno results and pics of
the car once completed .
